Tea Tour

The tour begins with an overview of the tea manufacturing process and tasting methods. Sometimes, one might spot some Wah tea pluckers, who are adept at plucking only the two leaves and a bud – the essence which lends Wah its high quality taste. Guests can also try their hand at plucking the tea!

Guests are then taken for a walk up to the factory, where they spend some time observing and learning about how tea is processed. They walk through each step of the manufacturing process in the factory, including the processes of withering, rolling, fermenting, drying and sorting.

On the way to view the plucking process, guests can the organic farm and polyhouses as well, all of which are grown for consumption at The Lodge.

The tour ends at The Tea Room, where a lovely tea tasting session awaits. With the view of tea bushes all around, guests learn about how to taste different varieties of teas, and try our exceptional bouquet. 

 

Dining under the stars

Imagine a night sky, the soft sounds of nature and music, and a cozy secluded spot in the garden. Candles to light up your night, and fairy lights for that extra touch of magic. A customised menu, your own butler and some live cooking to complete the feeling of a really special dinner. Every holiday is peppered with beautiful memories, and we love to help create them!

Around the Estate

We have some wonderful ways for you to just enjoy The Lodge and Wah Tea Estate.

  1. The Tea Room - set amidst the tea bushes and only a 5 minute walk from The Lodge, The Tea Room is a cafe created as beautiful indoor-outdoor space. It is a perfect spot to relax with a cup of tea or enjoy a bite to eat.

  2. Yoga - We can organize for a yoga instructor to teach you yoga in our beautiful yogashala in the middle of the tea gardens (based on availability).

  3. Nature Trail - Go for a leisurely walk through the estate paths and enjoy being in the great outdoors!

  4. Indoor and Outdoor Games - We have a wide range of games from good ol' Ludo to classic Croquet on warm afternoons for the guests to enjoy.

  5. Birdwatching - Our gardens and fruit trees attract a wide variety of birds from the Himalayan Thrush to the Indian Grey Hornbill. We invite you to start a birding logbook at our property.

  6. Bonfire Night - We would be happy to set up a bonfire at our garden so you can relax and enjoy the snacks by the warmth of the fire.
